I feel like my blogging schedule has been all over the place for the last few weeks. What happened to regular Wednesday and Sunday posts? I’ve been dashing from one place to another and have barely had time to think. But it’s ok, it’s been a good kind of busy. The feeling proud at how much you managed to achieve in 24 hours kind.
Part of the reason has been the fact that it is the On the Rocks festival here in St Andrews which means there has been lots of lovely artsy events to attend. Last night was meant to be one of those but due to some unfortunate booking issues, the event had to be postponed, which was a shame.
But since Sam and I were already at one of our favourite places in town, we decided to sit down and have a drink anyway. We have both been trudging through essays so figured we probably deserved a quick break.
As it so often does, a quick drink got stretched out and we had a lovely old catch up at the Brewpub. Sometimes we’re so busy running in and out that is nice to sit down, breathe and find out where she was going when we crossed paths in town.
We then realised that we probably wouldn’t be going home to finish our essays so we decided we might as well get another (oops!). A change of scenery (and the lure of Guinness for Sam) led us to Drouthy Neebor’s, who were hosting a pub quiz. Of course, it would have been rude not to join so we entered.
And were terrible.
Actually, we seem to have a pretty good knowledge of history and 80’s movies (though I’m not sure if that is something to be proud of). We just sucked at general knowledge and the like.
I think unplanned and spontaneous nights off might be becoming my fave way to spend an evening. What about you?
